Do you just bought an OCZ SSD and want to use it to replace your hard drive? This is good for computing performance, and now just clone your HDD to OCZ SSD so as to finish the job.

Why need to clone HDD to OCZ SSD?

Your computer may be driving you crazy, but instead of so much defragging of your old hard drive for enhancing storage performance, upgrading it to a solid state drive is the best solution.

First, an SSD is more durable than a HDD. A hard disk drives stores data on a rotating platter with a mechanical arm moving around to read information through the R/W head on it, which makes them susceptible to shock and damage. However, an SSD uses a non-mechanical design of NAND flash mounted on a circuit board, and this makes it shock resistant up to 1550g/0.5ms.

Second, an SSD is faster than a HDD. Since a HDD needs longer time to access data because of its spinning, an SSD can be up to 100 times faster resulting in total system acceleration.

Except of all above, an SSD is more reliable, more silent, cooler, lighter and uses less power. In a word, an SSD is much better than a traditional hard drive, and an OCZ SSD makes you easy to feel the difference in your everyday computing performance.

Here, when you clone your HDD to OCZ SSD, the OCZ data migration software, AOMEI Backupper, can help you a lot.

How to clone HDD to OCZ SSD?

Before clone:

While you can have the overall benefits of an SSD compared to a HDD in old operating system such as Windows XP and Vista, SSD will perform best with Windows 7 due to features available such as TRIM. And an OCZ’s extensive user forum has addition information and can guide you on how to optimize your SSD within any operation system.

Clone with free AOMEI Backupper:

AOMEI Backupper is a powerful clone software allowing to adjust partition size before the clone starts, and it supports all editions of Windows including Window XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10.

Step 1: Download, install and launch AOMEI Backupper Standard. Select “Disk Clone” under “Clone” tab.

Step 2: Select your HDD as source disk( here is disk 0), then click “Next”.

Step 3: Select OCZ SSD as destination disk (hereis disk 1), then click “Next” to continue.

Step 4: In this window, you can preview the operation result. If you need to adjust your OCZ SSD’s partition size and location, please click “Edit partition on the destination disk”. (In addition, “Sector by sector clone” is optional to copy all sectors of the disk to the destination disk whether in use or not, but the destination disk size must be equal to or larger than the source disk. “Align partition to optimize for SSD” is highly recommend here, for you can tick this option to optimize the performance of the SSD.)

In the pop-up window, there are three options for you:

1. Copy without resizing partitions: Do not do any changes.

2. Fit partition to entire disk: The destination disk partitions will be automatically resized to the entire disk, appropriate for the disk size.

3. Edit partitions on this disk (this is optional after upgrading to AOMEI Backupper Professional): Manually adjust these partitions one by one through dragging the slider bar.

Step 5: Finally, click Start Clone. Wait for the process to complete and then click Finish. A disk clone can take several hours depending on the size of the source disk.

AOMEI Backupper is good at cloning, also you can use it to do backup and restore job no matter the object is disk, system, partition or single file.
