Lacie Toolkit Backup and Mirroring Software Limitation

Genie Timeline is very easy to use and all of the backup tasks are 3 steps only after installing it. But its free edition lacks some features essential for a backup task, such as, backup schedule, email notification, compression, disaster recovery startup disk, etc.

It only supports local drives and external hard drives as backup drives. So you cannot backup Windows 10 to network drive or NAS as well as cloud drives.

In addition, it does not support disaster recovery to protect your system partition. If your system partition or disk is damaged, you will only be able to reinstall Windows.

To enjoy more features, you need to upgrade to its Home, Pro, or Server edition. If you don’t want to pay for it, try the best alternative to Lacie toolkit. And I’ll introduce it in the next part.
